Childhood Movies to Podcasting Journey
Let’s take a trip down memory lane to our childhood movies and how they led us to our current podcasting journey.
From a young age, our passion for filmmaking was ignited and we poured our hearts and souls into honing our skills.
As we approach our late 20s, we’re still fueled by our love for storytelling and we’re determined to make our mark in the industry.
Join us as we reminisce about some of our pivotal projects like “Monkey Man” and “The Man with No Fear,” reflecting on the lessons we’ve learned along the way.
It’s amazing to think how our childhood passions have led us to where we are today, and we’re excited to continue exploring new creative avenues on this journey.
Unconventional Creativity: From Toy Guns to Explosive Ideas.
Do you remember the days of using toys as props for imaginative productions? Well, for us, those toys included toy guns.
But we didn’t stop there, no. We took it to the next level and even tried our hands at making pipe bombs for our films.
But that was just the beginning of our unconventional creativity.
Instead of asking for typical gifts, we begged for wigs, fake blood, and editing tools.
These were our unique tools for bringing our stories to life.
Our garage was transformed into a fighting arena, and we even created our own take on the Vietnam War.
Despite our limited resources, our authenticity always left others amazed.
Our creativity knew no bounds, and our memories are filled with epic productions that we brought to life in our own unique way.
Childhood Movies to Creative Environment
When it comes to filmmaking, location is everything. And that’s precisely what we discovered during our six-year long journey of making movies.
We may have grown older since then, but the passion for creativity has only grown stronger.
That’s why we continue to seek out unique environments that can complement our vision and add that inimitable spark to our productions.
And let me tell you, Oakdale has been a godsend for us. From forests to mountains, it’s a treasure trove of diverse sets and locations that have played a pivotal role in our creative process.
Even today, we know that finding the right environment can make all the difference, infusing our work with mood and impact that people can resonate with.
Leveraging Passion for Filmmaking
When everyone else was glued to their screens, we were busy creating. Filmmaking wasn’t just a pastime for us, it was a true passion.
Growing up in Oakdale, we were surrounded by some of the best settings a filmmaker could ask for.
From lush, green forests to the peaceful countryside, each location provided us with the perfect backdrop for our creative visions.
Our family cabin became our own little production studio, and we relished every moment spent bringing our stories to life.
Sure, video games and social media have their appeal, but for us, nothing beats the thrill of seeing our imagination come to life on the big screen.
Similarities between Sport and Creativity
Engaging in various sports during our youth taught us valuable lessons that still resonate. Competing in swimming, baseball, soccer, and water polo developed stamina, resilience, and a competitive mindset.
These traits translated into our creative pursuits, allowing us to handle challenges and obstacles with ease. The skills we cultivated as athletes set us apart and contributed to our success as creators.
Lessons from Baseball and Filmmaking
Have you ever considered the similarities between playing baseball and making a film? While these two activities may seem vastly different, there are actually quite a few lessons that can be learned from both.
For starters, having a competitive mindset is key in both sports and creative endeavors.
Whether you’re on the field or behind the camera, it’s important to always strive to improve and push yourself to be better than before.
Additionally, teamwork is crucial in both settings. Understanding your role and working together with others to achieve a common goal is important for success.
So next time you’re watching a baseball game or tuning into your favorite movie, remember the valuable lessons that can be learned from both.
Competing with Yourself as a Creator
Instead of undermining others, true success lies in competing with ourselves. Embrace every aspect of the creative process, even tasks beyond your role, to foster loyalty, respect, and personal growth. Challenge yourself, hone your skills, and reach new heights as a creator.
